Stepping On

Stepping On is for people 60 and older who live independently. Over seven weeks, participants are provided information and skills to reduce falls and increase self-confidence in situations where they are at risk of falling. It covers a range of topics, including falls and fall risk, strength and balance exercises, home hazards, safe footwear, vision and falls, safety in public places, community mobility, coping after a fall, and how to initiate a medication review.

Program Overview

Stepping On is a group program that helps you prevent falls, stay independent, and feel more confident in daily life.

Program Schedule / Format

Classes meet once a week for 7 weeks, with a booster session after 3 months. Each class lasts about 2 hours.

Instructor / Facilitator Information

Stepping On is led by trained leaders and guest experts who will show you how to stay safe and active. Leaders will answer questions, offer support, and help you build confidence.

Program Materials Provided

You will receive simple handouts, exercise guides, and tips to help prevent falls and stay active.

Expected Outcomes

You can expect to improve balance, feel stronger, lower your risk of falling, and feel more confident moving around.
